MARK MCKEE

Mark McKee is currently in his ninth year serving as President and Head of Viewpoint School, a TK-12 school of 1200 students in the Santa Monica Mountains, just outside of Los Angeles.
Mark has improved the diversity, strengthened the community, and increased the capacity for innovation of every school community in which he has worked, building trust, shared vision, and creative confidence.
Mark has extensive governance experience, having served on the boards of several independent schools and educational nonprofit organizations including Trinity School (CA), Keys School (CA), Peninsula Bridge (CA), California Teacher Development Collaborative (CATDC), and the Silas Bronson Library (CT). A founding member of the CAIS (CT) Commission on Diversity in Independent Schools (CODIS), Mark served as Co-Chair and co-founder of Connecticut CAIS’ Annual Diversity Conference.
A graduate of Harvard with an A.B. in Classics and English, Mark has completed master's and doctoral study at UC Irvine and Teachers College, Columbia University, where he is completing his Ed.D. dissertation in Educational Leadership. He holds a certificate in coaching from Fielding Graduate University and an ACC credential from the International Coaching Federation.
Mark and his wife, also a career independent school educator, have two adult daughters who attended independent schools throughout their careers. A native Californian, Mark enjoys marathon and triathlon, cooking for family and friends, and singing.
