Premal Desai is a physician who specializes in robotic and minimally invasive surgery for urologic cancers. He is a partner at Tower Urology and a member of the group's executive management committee. He is actively involved with the medical staff at Cedars Sinai Medical Center and has held leadership roles, including Clinical Chief of the Division of Urology and President of the Los Angeles Urological Society. Outside of his medical career, Premal also serves on the Board of Trustees at the John Thomas Dye School.
Originally from Los Angeles, Premal graduated from Harvard Westlake School and then completed a combined bachelor’s and medical degree program at Union College/Albany Medical College, graduating with honors Magna Cum Laude and Alpha Omega Alpha. He undertook his residency in general surgery and urology at Loma Linda University Medical Center and completed his advanced fellowship in robotic and laparoscopic surgery at the Mayo Clinic. Premal lives in Los Angeles with his wife and their two children, who are in middle and high school.
